(BAND BUSINESS DURING OUR BREAK!)
Wednesday was a busy day for a few of us in NHBCOS:
At noon, Audrey S. and Ed and Mary N. attended a luncheon sponsored by the Executive Women's International organization (local chapter) where they were presented grant money that will be used for financial aid for members, musical instruments and music, and also facility rent money. Thanks to Audrey, we were aware of the availability of the money and she was good to coach us through the process. Our thanks to her and all the EWI members for their generosity in assisting non-profit organizations such as ours so that we might be able to proceed to work with seniors as we do. Thank you, thank you!!
Later that day, several of us traveled to Namaste in the Broadmoor area to entertain at their Christmas Party. Those participating were Jim H. and Tom F. (Trumpets), Sam S. and Corat M. (Trombones), Thomas T. (Tuba), Helayne T. (Bells), and Mary N. (Clarinet). If ever you have someone who is confined to a nursing home or if you have someone who resides in an assisted living facility, don't hesitate to ask us to entertain. Most always there is a group willing to share their talent. Our sincerest thanks to these folks for taking time during Christmas break participate in this one. (Corat's Wife, Jill,is currently a resident at Namaste).
On Tuesday night (December 13th) Karen L. hosted the Symphonic Clarinets as they exchanged their folders for this upcoming semester. You may or may not know that the clarinets have a musical chair deal every semester so as to give the members an opportunity to play different parts (usually 1st, 2nd, or 3rd). It was a nice affair that everyone(even a few spouses) seemed to enjoy. She had wonderful coffee selections AND Blue Bell ice cream (along with pumpkin pie, molten lava cake (YUM), apple pie, and cherry cheesecake. She really knows how to throw a party, that's for sure. Thanks, Karen, for your unending generosity.

Check with Mary if you are interested! We have catalogs to loan OR a quick-order catalog that we've made for your convenience!!!!!

This exciting group could use a few players in addition to the 50 or so we usually attract: We have need for another Bassoon, Percussionist, etc. Also, we could use a few more of everything, really! How does that saying go, "There is safety in numbers!"
